Descrizione

Il pesce prende il nome in onore di Frederick John Jackson (1859-1929), un amministratore, esploratore e ornitologo inglese, che si assicurò l'esemplare tipo. Può raggiungere una lunghezza massima di 11 cm. Si nutre di larve di insetti e detriti del fondo

Diffusione

Si trova in Kenya, Tanzania e Uganda . I suoi habitat naturali sono fiumi , fiumi intermittenti e delta interni. Non è considerata una specie minacciata dalla IUCN. È un pesce d'acqua dolce benthopelagico.
